Happy Birthday John Raimondi (May 29, 1948), sculptor and creator of monumental public art. Since his early days in Winthrop, MA, he demonstrated a unique ability to envision and create tremendous works of art that are solid in form, yet fluid in movement. While studying at the Mass College of Art, his early works were exhibited at Boston City Hall, Bridgewater State College and local galleries/museums. These led to his first prominent commission, conducted by the Nebraska 1-80 Bicentennial Sculpture Project, Erma’s Desire (pictured above). More of his work can be seen at www.jrsculptor.com.
